New Mac Stuff

Description: My latest Mac efforts have been in trying to document Macintosh integration into Active Directory.

Macinotsh Integration into Active Directory using LDAPv3

Mac Program(s)

Description: I've also written my first Mac application in 10 years. UserInfo (soon to be named UserInfoMenu), adds a menu to the Mac menubar. In it, you'll find some basic information collected into one easy to access area. Information covers loginID, homeDirectory, UID, account type, IP address, and hostName. An applescript is also included for creating tab delimited files with the same information.

Marathon Maps

 Hostile Takeover (final cut)

Description: You play a marine for hire in the tough corporate world of The Future. Not your ordinary Marathon scenario Hostile Takeover took a humorous approach to the entire Marathon genre, earning a runner up prize in Bungie's Marathon Infinity contest held back in 1997. Though included in the Marathon Trilogy pack this is the completed version with 4 new levels not previously seen.

Chimera Levels

 Reactor Critical

Description: Some time after winning runner up in Bungie's Marathon contest with Hostile Takeover I received two invitations to work on some total converion projects for Marathon. One was a cut & pasted together letter that had no particular drive or direction and seemed more like a scrapbook than a definitive plan. The other contained a link to a well craft story and an impressive first level. I was hooked and began to work on Chimera: The Prophecy on and off for the next couple of years. There were a number of false starts as the project organizer was kinda new to this thing and it took a year to overcome them. About a year later the texture sets were looking mighty good, unfortunately, my work schedule and decision to move to the PC kept me away from working my levels "Full Fathom Five" and "Far From the Madding Crowd". Though I finished both levels they didn't come out as good as I had hoped, nor as good as some of the work already contributed to the project. Presented here are a few screenshots for a net level I did later. Another net level remains unfinished though it showed promise, that being "Texas Book Supository". About a year ago I got wind of Marathon: Rubicon. Guess what? It's the old Chimera project reborn. I can't recognize much of it from the original though a few levels look familiar. Wow.

Old Mac Programs

I've written a few Macintosh programs. Though not supported, there are no known bugs in any of these programs. Feel free to email me if you're interested in any of these programs or their source code.

Chinese Chess

Description: A simple board game. Crude by today's standards but it is in color, it works, and should run on any Macintosh. Only the 2 player mode works, I never got around to creating the computer opponent. Screenshot

FontMancer

Description: Displays font samples in an easy to use format. No more scrolling through long font menus. It can also search for fonts by typing in the font's name. You can display the font in bold, italic, etc., change its size and change the sample text used. Most functions have keyboard shortcuts. Screenshot

FontMancer Pro

Description: Has all of these features of FontMancer plus the ability to resize the window. Yes, I know that's hardly worthy of the 'Pro' extension but this was also my first program using the CodeWarrior PowerPlant framework. Hence the noticeably larger size of the program and beefier memory requirements. Still, it doesn't take much compared to many other programs. Screenshot
